The Daily Reflector

The Daily Reflector has been a vital part of the life of Greenville, Pitt County, and eastern North Carolina for more than a century. The company was founded in 1882 by David Jordan Whichard and Julian R. Whichard , who bought the printing equipment from the proprietor of The Express, for whom they once worked. Moving the equipment into their mother's one-room schoolhouse, the brothers began their own weekly newspaper, The Eastern Reflector. In 1885 David Jordan Whichard became sole owner and publisher of The Reflector, beginning daily publication December 10, 1884.

They’re used to this by now.

  • BYH, each day is a loan, spend it wisely.
  • BYH, now that we found out that a property Trump bought for 9 million was used in a bank loan application and listed at 293 million for the purposes of obtaining the loan, every loan application Trump ever signed should be gone over with a fine toothed comb. That is, if fraud is still illegal.
  • BY, we won't find a cure or diseases until we find a cure for greed.
  • BYH, get this: I think Trump is an even bigger threat to this country than California is, being a sanctuary state.
  • I read where the sheriff got a $36,000 raise. Should the criminal be scared? Or the taxpayers?
  • Relax! I think the $36,000 raise for the sheriff came from that $20 million transfer ECU made to athletics. From what I understand there is a direct correlation between a winning football program and a high paid sheriff. In the words of Eric Clapton, "I fought the law and the law won."
  • From what I understand "Iatrophobia" is a fancy word for fear of doctors. What is the word for a doctor is who afraid of his or her patients? Getting my doctor to speak to me is harder than getting my wife to show affection. Maybe she should show him some affection?
  • After having been on Medicare now for 12 months I can guarantee you the "Medicare for All" ain't gonna solve all our health problems. Money may not buy happiness but it will bring a smile to a doctor whereas Medicare only buys you a blank stare.
  • BYH to anyone that can lose weight and keep it off. Why is it so hard and nothing seems to work long term?
  • After getting a $36,000 pay increase the next step up for the sheriff is to take over GUC. Of course GUC has more power but it comes with the territory.
