Historic eastern NC riverfront community, full-service City, including electric utility system and General Aviation Airport, is seeking a city manager for 9,800 population. The manager is appointed by Mayor and 5-member Council. $79 million operating budget, including (7) seven enterprise funds, which supports 220 full-time employees. Significant experience in local government as a top administrator, preferably including management of an electrical distribution enterprise fund, is preferred. Experience in economic development, downtown/waterfront redevelopment, annexation, historic district and community revitalization, budgeting, intergovernmental relations, service delivery, long-range comprehensive and strategic planning, human relations, community innovation, and public communication is desired. Preferred Master’s Degree in Public Administration with 5 + years of municipal government experience. Minimum requirement Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business or related field with 5 + years of municipal governmental experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Salary range $98,702 - $148,053, salary is negotiable depending on qualifications. The manager must live within the Washington city limits within (1) one year of appointment.
