Information Technology and Computing Services (ITCS) is recruiting for a Technology Support Analyst to provide microcomputer support for ECU campus community. The position responsibilities include providing service and support for desktop and mobile computer systems, including troubleshooting, hardware/software configuration, desktop automation, and new technology research and development. The selected candidate will learn new tools and develop advanced skills as project needs and technology change and will need to be adaptable, with a highly advanced troubleshooting skill set.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Technology Integration, Networking Technology, or related area and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the position’s role; or Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year experience in the information technology field related to the position’s role; or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, math or engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination
of education and experience. Journey level requires an additional one year of experience.
Preferred Education and Experience: In depth knowledge of Windows desktop and mobile computer systems in addition to networking, and client-server applications, as well as experience with computer installation/configuration is preferred. Ideal candidate will possess considerable experience providing end-user support in a large networked environment.
The candidate must be broadly familiar with various software applications (Microsoft Office, Web Browsers, Email and Antivirus clients) with high-level skills supporting Windows 7 operating system. Ideal candidate will possess skills in the following areas: problem solving, task prioritization, active listening, verbal and written communications. Ideal candidate will possess experience in desktop and mobile computer support including network communication configuration (TCP/IP), computer hardware/software troubleshooting, operating system and general application support.
Extensive experience with Microsoft applications, operating systems and Microsoft Active Directory is strongly preferred. Microsoft Certified Professional credentials and/or A+ certification is desirable.
Special Instructions to Applicants: This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Journey level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant’s competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations. Salary Grade Equivalent: 72 (for reduction-in-force priority purposes only).
