Dr. Shannon Elizabeth Holcomb and Mr. Aaron Miles Minges, both of Greenville, were united in marriage at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Tryon Palace in New Bern.
Kurt Varney officiated the ceremony. Kurt is a fellow participant of the Dominican Dental Mission Project in which the bride participates each summer.
The bride is the daughter of LTC George Sanford Holcomb of Raleigh and Dr. Gerianne Claire Geszler of Fayetteville. She is the granddaughter of Ms. Miriam Harper Casey of Raleigh, and the late CW4 Weldon Eugene Holcomb, the late Mrs. Marie Ann Geszler and Mr. William Benjamin Geszler.
A graduate of Terry Sanford High School; she attended East Carolina University; received a Bachelor of Science in Health Education and Promotion with a minor in Business; received a Masters of Public Health at ECU; and was a member of the inaugural class of the ECU School of Dental Medicine.
She is a general dentist at Smiles By Shaw. She is a member of the Junior League of Greenville, ECU Alumni Association Board of Directors, ECU Womens Roundtable Board of Directors, and ECU Student Affairs Advancement Council.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Sarita Hardy Cawiezell of Greenville and Mr. Jeffrey Miles Minges of Kinston. He is the grandson of Mrs. Sue Hardy Paul of Winterville, and the late Mr. Jesse Thomas Hardy, Jr., the late Ms. Rosamond Nicholson Minges and Mr. Hoyt Alvin Minges, Sr.
A graduate of Arrendell Parrot Academy; he attended the University of Alabama; received a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies with a minor in Nutrition.
He is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Pepsi Minges Bottling Group. He is Chair of the PCC Foundation and serves on the Boys and Girls Club Board of Trustees.
The bride wore a strapless custom fitted gown by Antonio Gual from J. Majors Bridal Boutique. Her two-piece reception dress was a French lace crop-top with keyhole back and chiffon skirt by Moonlight from Unveiled Couture.
Matrons of honor were Eileen Swick of Hoboken, NJ and Kym Jackson of Wilson. Maid of honor was Marit Anderson of Charlotte.
Bridesmaids included Emily McLamb of Greenville; Lauren Jordan of Arlington, VA; Dr. Morgan Phillips and Rachel Bardin of Charlotte; Dr. Bridgette Brooks of Atlanta, GA; and Amanda Wigger of Durham.
The grooms father served as his sons best man.
Groomsmen were Landon Minges and Walker Williams of Greenville; Clayton Hudson of Tuscaloosa, AL; Ben Cooper of Atlanta, GA; Jon Smith of Wilson; John Tate of Denver; Chance McDaniel of Las Vegas, NV; Ryan Whitney of Raleigh.
Ring Bearers were Lee Jackson and Bowman Smith. Greeters were Elizabeth Hardy and Mia Minges, cousins of the groom. Wedding coordinator was Tammy Roys of Morehead City. The wedding reception was held at the New Bern Country Club. A rehearsal dinner was held at Persimmons Waterfront Restaurant in New Bern.
Events held prior to the wedding included an engagement celebration at Willow Oak Farm, the home of Ann and Gene Taylor in Winterville, hosted by family and friends; a bridal shower at Brook Valley Country Club in Greenville hosted by family and friends; a bridal shower hosted by Smiles By Shaw and a groomsmens brunch at The Chelsea in New Bern.
Following a wedding trip to Turks and Caicos, the couple will reside in Greenville.
