Samantha Leigh Brody of Greenville, NC and David Leigh Moses of Florham Park, NJ exchanged vows Saturday, April 28, 2018 at half past six at The Umstead Hotel in Cary, NC.
The ceremony was officiated by Seth Rogin, a friend of the bride and groom.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hyman J. Brody of Greenville and the granddaughter of Mrs. Lorraine Brody and the late Mr. Morris Brody of Greenville and Mr. and Mrs. Robert O. Copeland of Virginia Beach, Va.
She graduated high school from The Lawrenceville School, Lawrenceville, NJ and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She is employed as a real estate agent for Next Step Realty in New York City.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Moses of Florham Park, NJ and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin Kolodny of Bronx, NY and the late Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Moses of Newburgh, NY.
He graduated from Hanover Park High School in East Hanover, NJ, The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill for an undergraduate degree and the New York University School of Law, New York. He practices law with Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr in Newark, NJ.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. The ceremony took place outside under a traditional chuppah with a modern acrylic touch decorated with assorted flowers and cherry blossoms.
The bride wore a white, strapless, lace gown with a flowing train and a complementary veil designed by Oscar de la Renta during the ceremony. A crystal headband replaced the veil during the reception. The bride carried a hand tied bouquet made with white and blush roses, peonies, ranunculus and hydrangeas. A family locket was pinned to the bouquet holding a photograph of her grandfather, Morris Brody, and her family dog, Libby.
The Maid of Honor was Arielle Klebanoff, cousin of the bride, of Atlanta, GA. The Matron of Honor was PJ Gray, friend of the bride, of Wilmington. The Bridesmaids were Jessica Copeland, cousin of the bride, of Virginia Beach, VA; Laura Haft, sister-in-law-to-be, of Washington,DC; along with Lindsey Kirschenbaum, of Washington, DC, Natalie Gray, of Greenville, Alex Smith, of Portland, ME and Shannon Pincus, of Philadelphia ,PA, friends of the bride. The Man of Honor was Andrew Bernis, of New York, who escorted the Ring Bearer, Tiger Brody Moses, the bride and groom’s Havanese puppy.
The ceremony greeters were friends of the bride, Michol Hatwan of Los Angeles, CA, Emily Browder of Winton-Salem,NC and Brittney Maxey of Brooklyn,NY.
The Bestman was Matthew Moses, brother of the groom, of New York. The groomsmen were Chad Cohen of New York, Dan Ahmad of New York, Evan Rossman of Los Angeles, Husein Abdulali of New York, Ricky Fredrickson of Maryland, friends of the groom; and Nathan Brody of Washington,DC and Wiilliam Brody of Durham, brothers of the bride.
Gina Johnston, of A Southern Soiree, coordinated the wedding weekend while Ginny Corbett photographed the weekend.
Triangle String Quartet provided the music for the ceremony.
A reception with dinner and dancing was held at The Umstead Hotel after the ceremony with music provided by ‘Jessie’s Girl’ of Atlanta,GA and floral arrangements designed by Jefferson’s of Greenville and Watered Garden Florist of Raleigh,NC.
The weekend began with a “Bridal Brunch” at Coquette restaurant hosted by the bride’s aunts, Jodi Klebanoff, Robin Copeland and Jillian Copeland. A rehearsal party was hosted by the bride’s grandparents, Lorraine Brody and Ann and Bobby Copeland, at the Carolina Inn, Chapel Hill and a Sunday farewell brunch was hosted by the groom’s parents, Sylvia and Harold Moses at The Umstead Hotel.
Celebrations before the wedding included parties in Greenville hosted by friends of the family and New York hosted by the bride and groom’s parents.
The couple honeymooned in Punta Mita, Mexico and will make their home in New York City.
