Nov. 30 Bless Your Heart

BYH to those locals that constantly post selfies on their FB page. We know what you look like and guess what? You're not getting any younger nor better looking, so give it a rest.

This sounded like good news to me. I recently read that the "Shareholder Class" will benefit the most from the GOP tax plan. We were far from "well off" when we got married. We started investing almost 40 years ago. While still not wealthy, we are in much better shape than we were.

BYH to the tribe. I honestly had no idea that my politics were so deeply rooted in tribalism. Someone was kind enough to inform me of this in Bless Your Heart. I am proud to be a devout member of the Deplorables.

Maybe we need to investigate past elections by the Pitt County Board of Elections staff? The Winterville election proved they need a change in their leadership. Our communities’ leadership positions depend on legally elected officials. Some may even say it was racially decided.

Bless your heart, cable TV. The only thing worst than M.A.S.H. without Larry Linville (Frank Burns) and McLean Stevenson (Col. Blake) is Andy Griffith without Barney Fife. Come on cablevision ... for what you charge, you can do a better job with reruns.

BYH to National Glutton's Day also known as Thanksgiving. Let us review briefly. Two out of three Americans are either overweight or obese. So, it is only logical that one day out of the year should be set aside to eat as much as you can hold. To add insult to injury, The Daily Reflector shows a photo of a starving child in Yemen. I almost lost my appetite.

Isn't it time to move several comic strips to the DR sports pages in order to make room for articles about ECU football on the comic pages?

"I won Man of the Year" is the cutest thing since "I won the popular vote."

BYH to my former OB/GYN doctor. Called to make an appointment for my checkup, told the girl I now have Medicare. I was then told they were no longer accepting Medicare patients. Wow! What a slap in the face! Guess if I was younger and they could charge me 25 grand to have a baby I would be accepted.

Why isn't the U.S. or the United Nations being more proactive or forceful to help the 5 million-plus humans in Syria. We were involved in Vietnam for fewer reason and more years. Bomb Isis in Syria! Done!

BYH, Christmas music is not “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” or “Blue Christmas” by Elvis. Christmas music is about the birth of Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace and the Savior of the world.

Bless your heart! Apartments, apartments, apartments and rental units everywhere you look in Greenville and they still build more. When is enough enough?

BYH, no one needs an elephant tusk but an elephant.
