BYH to the city Public Works department for paying for an expensive public input session on sidewalks and not telling...

May 28 Bless Your Heart

We could use $2 million a lot better to improve our city. We don't need a memorial that fancy to honor the past. How about a nice brass plate.

BYH, Greenville drivers! You've come up with a new, stupid fad — driving around at night without headlights. You’re not only stupid, but an accident waiting to happen. I count seven or eight vehicles every night traveling around with no lights on. If you do not care about your own life, at least care about the lives of others.

We had a nice church service this morning. The preacher spent most of his sermon blessing the beach cottages of the rich members. The rest of us get an ice cream social.

According to my research parking your car on the grass in a residential neighborhood will get you a larger fine than selling cocaine. It must be something to do with the grass being deprived of sunshine.

BYH, players aren't protesting the flag or the anthem, they are making a statement about racism and unequal treatment. But ironically, even someone actually protesting the flag is engaging in a freedom the flag actually represents, the freedom to peacefully protest.

Bless our heart, under authoritarian rule, loyalty is regarded as more important than competence.

Bless our heart, the American people are hereby calling for a complete shutdown of the Trump administration's policies, executive orders, nominations ands golf trips until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on.

A great big bravo to Greenville Noon Rotary and its local partners for the leadership in creating the Field of Honor at the Town Common. This spectacular flag display honors heroes and is the positive, unifying message this country needs, now more than ever.

BYH Trillium for offering school based mental health services for a fee to students and families. Federal disability law, however, requires all schools to provide these services at no cost to students with disabilities. Schools in our area need accept their legal responsibility and staff service providers appropriately in the schools and not continue to ignore these responsibilities.

BYH, so we have to accept Nazis marching in the street because of the First Amendment, but players kneeling to protest racism will be punished. Got it.

BYH, beware the early signs of fascism: powerful and continuing nationalism, disdain for human rights, rampant sexism, controlling mass media, religion and government intertwined, corporate power protected, obsession with national security, disdain for intellectuals and the arts, and rampant cronyism and corruption, just to name a few.
