Bless the heart of the young man that held the door for me today. As I returned from lunch a leg injury decided it wanted to rear its ugly head. As I struggled to get into the building, a young man appeared from nowhere to hold the door open for me. How gallant and wonderful was that?!
No BYH to the newly appointed Brody School of Medicine Department of Engineering chair. Her goal is “to identify and provide solutions that make engineering education and careers more attractive to talented female students.” Blatant discrimination! By the way, I am a female.
Since there are hundreds of cars still speeding through school zones everyday in Pitt County, why doesn't the school system expand the cop behind a camera "red light runner" program to include the school zones? The schools would make a ton more money in civil fines for themselves, our taxes would go down, we'd all be safer and the wealthy can afford to speed.
I called the City of Greenville street department to complain about a tree that has grown through the fence in two places at Heritage Village since it could cause a car accident. I was told to take a picture of it and send to them. Sorry, but I do not want to endanger my life further by doing that. Please, someone check into this. It doesn't matter whose responsibility it is. It is an accident waiting to happen.
BYH to the person asking about northern monuments. The Battlefield of Gettysburg, which was one of the major turning points of the Civil War, has over 1,000 monuments, all of which are still standing. Slavery was one of the key issues for the war. I can understand why they are being removed in the South.
Symbols of hate and oppression have no place in our public spaces. Those who would preserve monuments to the Confederacy need to remember and have empathy for those who suffered greatly under that regime.
BYH to Chancellor Folt. I am confident she and UNC officials will make a wise decision regarding Silent Sam. It was a lawless act of property destruction and should be treated as such. Period.
Bless your heart to Jumping Run Church of Grifton. You had your first church jamboree for the community. You had lots of food, face painting for the children, good music and other things. It was really nice. I only went for a little while, but enjoyed it so much. Here’s a big shout out to all who supported this worthwhile cause. Looking forward to next year’s jamboree.
BYH to the Toddler-in-Chief: you cannot manipulate Google searches to suit your fragile ego. Ever heard of the First Amendment?
The Garden of Eden was fragile. A campaign of misinformation brought it down.
