Inquiring minds want to know how a student housing complex (the Bower) gets its own upgraded, intense, pedestrian crosswalk to the athletic complex. Seems that a pedestrian has to actually get struck before anything is done.
BYH I’m nervous about all the shootings that now seem spreading to other parts of the city. We need to be safe.
We have a new rule this year for our Thanksgiving celebration. No cellphones! Of course everyone but my wife has cancelled and I expect her to come up with an excuse soon. It will be my greatest Thanksgiving ever! Turkey, football, nap and silence.
Do any of my brothers and sisters on BYH have any questions that you need answers to? My brother-in-law is coming for Thanksgiving and there is nothing he does not know. Please send your questions and I will get his answer if my medication holds out.
BYH to all the people that refuse to take part in holiday shows, tree lighting services and Christmas parades before Thanksgiving. It makes no sense to schedule this stuff so early and takes away from what makes the holiday season special.
BYH to anyone complaining about it being too early for Christmas lights. You're lucky I wait until after Halloween before I start throwing fistfuls of cheer all over my house, Ebenezer.
BYH, be thankful this holiday season that we are a nation of all faiths: Christian, Jewish, Atheist, Muslim, Buddhist, and so on. Even our troops come from all faith backgrounds.
BYH to everyone who keeps Christmas special by celebrating it in December, after Thanksgiving.
BYH: Make America Rake Again!
BYH, in 2018 we can plan missions to Mars and build space craft that withstands the vacuum and cold of space, as well as the intense heat of reentry. So why don't we build houses or facade them with polymers that resist nearby fires? California needs that technology.
Now I am getting telemarketing calls from Somalia. I sure do not know anyone in Somalia and just a few people outside Pitt County. And I certainly could not converse in their language as I cannot even understand Yankees. Beware!
As painful as it is to endure the detour at 10th Street and Evans Street, this intersection was in need of a complete overhaul. I hope we all can see this as progress and not a negative detour.
BYH nurse Rouse, some teachers and even a bus driver at South Greenville School who helped me after I fell leaving the school. Your care, thoughtfulness and compassion showed such a wonderful attitude. A great example for students. Thank you for your generous expression of love to a total stranger.
BYH, your greatness lies not in what you have, but in what you give.
