BYH, some see the glass as half empty. I say just get a smaller glass and quit complaining....

Sept. 11 Bless Your Heart

Wednesday, September 11, 2019

Weather reporters love a hurricane like it was their Super Bowl. How someone can talk that much over a hurricane is beyond me. Next time around they should end each update by asking the viewers, "Do you have any last words?" Wasn't it a hurricane that took Alice to Kansas?

It has got to be the blood pressure pill people behind the hurricane hype. They started scaring us two weeks out and I was a nervous wreck. Give it up and let us go peacefully. It is just like yelling fire in that downtown theater. Did that theater ever get built?

A shout out and thank you to all the utility crews getting our lights and AC back on. I watched your progress on an online power outage map. Y'all rock and are truly appreciated!

Bless your heart to those who use the public street as their personal dumping ground for their yard waste, impeding traffic and clogging our storm sewers. I wish the city would fine you.

BYH, some create their own storms, then get angry when it rains.

You people really crack me up! If you had carefully studied the Horizon Land Use Plan you would have known that Hurricane Dorian would not damage Greenville. To my knowledge Dorian never ran for the City Council. We have had some real winners but never a Dorian.

It was awesome seeing all the restaurants looking out for policeman, first responders and linemen during the storm. Next time, would you please consider remembering the folks at NCDOT? They are on 24 hour shifts during storms to keep Pitt County safe, yet the risk they bear and the service they provide is often unnoticed.

BYH, did you ever notice that a woman's 'I'll be ready in 5 minutes' and a man's 'I'll be home in 5 minutes' are exactly the same?

Bless your heart to Walmart for their anti-firearm stand. Now the power of millions of gun owners in a boycott will be felt all the way to the headquarters in Missouri.

It’s Arkansas, but you just missed by one state.

Thank you for the Pirates win, Mayor Connelly. You and Chancellor Dan are really getting it done in Greenville and ECU.

Now if we can win five more games we can work on building those statues for the mayor, coach, and the chancellor. Seems to be a great buzz in the air here in Greenville!

Bless your heart to the big money. Think about it, $60 million for a tower at the ECU stadium. Six home games this year. Can you do the math?

BYH, for those of you keeping score, I'm still handsome. Thank you, carry on.

BYH, life didn't give me lemons, it gave me onions. Onionade sucks!

Remember everyone who perished 18 years ago today. Peace on Earth is the blessing that should grow from their death and sacrifice.
