Twenty-seven checks valued at $3,925 were reported stolen from a Greenville business, according to the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office

The incident occurred between 1:06 p.m. on Dec. 16 and Jan. 6 at Roger’s Drywall, 827 Rivit St. The building was not forcibly entered, according to a case report.

According to the report, 27 checks valued at $3,925.94 were stolen.

The sheriff’s office said obtaining property by false pretense, forgery and larceny were committed. The sheriff’s office continues to investigate.

The sheriff’s office released reports Tuesday with the following details and allegations:

Theft

1100 block Sugg Parkway, 5:59-6 p.m. Jan. 9: Guess wallet valued at $50 stolen; investigation ongoing.

Assaults

200 block River Road Estates Road, 9:30 p.m. Jan. 9: 26-year-old man assaulted by spouse with knife; no injuries reported; 24-year-old woman also assaulted; extent of injuries not reported; investigation ongoing.

5000 block N.C. 33 East/Edgebrook Drive, 5:41 p.m. Jan. 9: 36-year-old woman assaulted by acquaintance; no injuries reported; investigation ongoing.

Held at gunpoint

Two men forced their way into an apartment on Sunday night and held five people at gunpoint, according to the Greenville Police Department. 

Greenville Police Department spokeswoman Kristen Hunter said two men knocked on the door of 3313 Landmark St., Apt. 8, and forced their way into the apartment. The suspects were described as black men in their 20s who were both wearing all dark clothing, Hunter said.

According to a case report, an iPhone 6S, rope chain necklace, a watch, iPhone 7, Lenova laptop, earrings, a bluetooth speaker and an Xbox valued at $2,925 were stolen.

No one was injured, Hunter said.
