Crime: Man reports carjacking at knifepoint

A man reported to Greenville police Tuesday night that his car was stolen at knifepoint.
The man was sitting in his vehicle in the 900 block of Imperial Street about 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday when he got into an altercation with another person, according to police. That person pulled out a knife then took the victim’s vehicle, Kristen Hunter, spokeswoman for the police department, said.
There were some suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident, and detectives are trying to determine exactly what happened, Hunter said. The case remains under investigation.

Trailer, copper wire stolen
The Pitt County Sheriff's Office is trying to identify the person or persons who broke into the fenced area of Coastline Electrical Contractors at 1838 Progress Road, located in the area of Agri Supply on U.S. 264, and stole a New Holland Skid Steer Hurricane enclosed trailer and rolls of copper wire from inside.
The break-in occurred was reported on Sept. 26 just before 6 a.m., according to a news release issued Wednesday by the sheriff’s office. The trailer is white and silver. Anyone with information is asked to call Pitt-Greenville Crime Stoppers at 252-658-7777.
