Two women have been charged with trafficking cocaine and child abuse, according to a Pitt County Sheriff’s Office news release.

While executing a search warrant at 287 Northwest Acres Drive on Feb.23, members of the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit found cocaine, with an estimated street value of $35,000, the release said.

Arrest warrants indicate, 935 grams of cocaine, along with two digital black scales, were found. Five children were also in the home at the time of the search.

Ebony Rochelle Greene,30, was arrested at the scene and an arrest warrant was issued for Ashley Tonika Henry, 27, who also lives at the home.

The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the U.S. Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Task Force to locate Henry, who was taken into custody on March 6 in Ayden.

Greene and Henry are charged with misdemeanor child abuse, felony trafficking cocaine, felony possession of drug paraphernalia and felony maintaining a dwelling for the sale of drugs. They each were booked in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $1.5 million bond.

This investigation continues and more arrests are likely, the release said.
