A routine traffic stop led to a drug bust and weapons seizure on Sunday, according to a Greenville Police Department report.

Officers stopped a vehicle about 3:10 a.m. on Sunday in the area of the Tropicana Supermarket, 1204 N. Memorial Drive after observing a taillight violation. As officers approached the vehicle they noticed a strong odor of marijuana.

During a search of the vehicle, officers located a handgun under the driver’s seat and a stolen handgun under the passenger’s seat. They also located 2 ounces of marijuana in the trunk. A secondary search of the vehicle by a Greenville Police K-9 resulted in the discovery of more marijuana and crack cocaine under the rear passenger seat. A digital scale also was discovered in the car.

Devonte Williams, Dashaun Person and Travis Anderson all were arrested and charged as a result of the traffic stop and search. Charges include possession of a firearm by felon, possession of a stolen firearm, possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, among other drug charges. Williams was booked in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $75,000 bond. Anderson was booked under a $25,000 bond. Person's booking details and bond information were not available.
