A man with a handgun shot through a side glass door and forced his way into a KFC restaurant at 2000 S.E. Greenville Blvd shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday, the Greenville Police Department reported.

The man left after he encountered two employees who were inside the business, which was closed at the time, according to a department news release. The workers were not hurt and nothing was stolen from the restaurant. 

The man is described as black with short dreadlocks and a slim build. He is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was last seen wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police department 252-329-4300 or CrimeStoppers 252-758-7777. Crime Stoppers offers up to a $2,500 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
