Man charged with DWI after crashing into two vehicles

A 45-year-old man was charged with driving while impaired after he crashed into two vehicles, according to a weekly review of Pitt County court records.

Van Lee Everette, 45 , of 1618 Cody Lane, crashed into two different vehicles about 3:35 p.m. on May 12 near Greenville Boulevard and 10th Street, according to a Greenville Police Department report.

Police said Everette had obvious signs of impairment, including an odor of alcohol on his breath. He also was charged with driving with a revoked license. His blood alcohol level was 0.16.  

Five others also were charged with driving while impaired according to court records and law enforcement reports available between May 9 and May 16. In those cases, court documents indicate:

■ Tobi Devon Little, 38, of 1902 West Third Street Church Street was stopped at 4:55 p.m. on May 11 near N.C. 11 and Farmville Boulevard by the Greenville Police Department. He had glassy eyes, slurred speech, and an odor of alcohol on his breath. His blood alcohol level was 0.32

■ Eric Montrell Grimes, 35, of 434 House Road, Bethel, was stopped at 11:53 p.m. on May 11 near U.S. 13 and Futrell Robson Road by the State Highway Patrol. He had red glassy eyes and an odor of alcohol on his breath. He refused a breathalyzer.

■ Jeremy Eugene Hartke, 39, of 2922 Avon Road, was stopped at 5:15 p.m. on May 11 near Old Tar Road and Cooper Street by the Winterville Police Department. He had an odor of alcohol on his breath. Officers said he had a dazed and confused look, glassy eyes and shuffled when he walked. His blood alcohol level was 0.16

■ Nevy Vazquez Sanchez, 27, of 6965 Birdie Lane, was stopped at 1:20 a.m. on May 12 near N.C. 11 and Littlefield Road by the Grifton Police Department. Officers observed Sanchez driving into oncoming traffic. He did not respond to verbal commands, had an odor of alcohol on his breath, slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet and had vomit on his shirt. His blood alcohol level was unavailable.

■ Tyrone King Jr, 20, of Trenton New Jersey, was stopped at 3:59 a.m. on May 13 near N.C. 11 and Jacksontown Road by the Ayden Police Department. He also was charged with driving 78 in a 55 mph zone and for consuming when younger than 21. He had an odor of alcohol on his breath. His blood alcohol level was 0.13.
