Man charged with DWI after crashing vehicle

A 48 year-old man was charged with driving while impaired after he crashed his vehicle, according to a weekly review of Pitt County court records.
William Fred Tripp,48, of 2521 Penny Hill Road, crashed his vehicle near Penny Hill Road and Conetoe Road at 4:38 p.m. on June 10. The accident report did not offer details on the crash.
Tripp was unsteady on his feet, had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, slurred speech and red glassy eyes. His blood alcohol level was 0.17.
He was among four people charged with driving while impaired according to court records and law enforcement reports available between June 6 and June 13. In the other cases, court documents indicate:
■ Joshua Kentrell Harper, 33, of 2911 Ms. Paul Lane, was stopped at 1:32 a.m. on June 8 near U.S. 13 and Ballards Crossroads Road by the State Highway Patrol. He had red glassy eyes and an odor of alcohol on his breath. His blood alcohol level was 0.11. He also was charged for going 74 in a 55 mph zone.
■ Dominique Michelle Mcnair, 21, of 301 S. Adkin Street, Kinston, was stopped at 12:15 a.m. on June 10 near U.S. 264 Alternate and Old Pactolus Road by the State Highway Patrol. She had red glassy eyes and an odor of alcohol on her breath. Her blood alcohol level was 0.10. She also was charged with going 71 in a 55 mph zone.
■Tony Devon Perkins, 31, of 2148 Flagstone Court, was stopped at 12:27 a.m. on June 8 near Greenville Boulevard and Kristin Drive by the Greenville Police Department. He also was charged failure to maintain lane control, and his vehicle was seized. He had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and was unable to complete a field sobriety test. His blood alcohol level was 0.19.
