A Farmville-area man was arrested on an assault charge after a neighbor confronted him about blowing yard debris onto his property, the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office reported on Tuesday. 

Marvin Earl Bryan Jr., 47, is accused of striking his neighbor with a piece of metal, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. Deputies were called to the scene in 6000 block of Stantonsburg Road and found the man with a laceration to his face.

Bryan was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and was jailed at the Pitt County Detention Center under a $3,000 bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for July 19.

■ 400 block House Road, near Bethel, 5 p.m. June 17-noon June 18: vehicle parts valued at $30 stolen from residence and recovered; investigation ongoing

■ 4800 block School Road, near Grimesland, noon June 9-6:23 p.m. June 18: scrap metal, scrap air conditioning unit and Optima 12V battery valued at $550 stolen from open land area; investigation ongoing.

■ 600 block Cotanche Street, 6-7 p.m. June 18: 30-day vehicle tag valued at $30 stolen from parking lot; case inactive.

■ 2200 block University Suites Drive, 1:30-5:30 p.m. June 18: home forcibly entered; no items listed as stolen; case inactive.

■ 770 W. Fire Tower Road, 11:06-11:22 a.m. June 18: three packages of disposable diapers valued at $74.77 stolen from CVS Pharmacy; investigation ongoing.

■ 1200 block Evans Street, midnight May 8-noon June 18: home forcibly entered; no items listed as stolen; door frame valued at $200 damaged; case inactive.

■ 1601 S.E. Greenville Blvd., 9;42-9:50 a.m. June 17: box of Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing 12 ounce cans and 18-pack Modelo beer valued at $30.98 stolen from Speedway; investigation ongoing.

■ 1601 S.E. Greenville Blvd., 3:17-3:25 a.m. June 17: two cans of Natural Light beer valued at $2.58 stolen from Speedway; investigation ongoing.

■ 4600 block East 10th Street, 2:30-3:03 p.m June 13: 279 miscellaneous items valued at $2,875.58 stolen from convenience store; arrest made.

■ 200 block North Woodlawn Avenue, 6:30 p.m. June 5: Bassett couch valued at $250 stolen from home; case inactive.

■ 200 block Southwest Greenville Boulevard, 5:30-6 p.m. June 18: 9 mm firearm valued at $362 stolen from parking lot; case inactive.

Assaults

■ 2500 block Charles Boulevard, 2:30-3:30 p.m. June 16: 41-year-old woman assaulted in home by common-law spouse; extent of injuries not reported; investigation ongoing.

■ 3200 block Landmark Street, noon-12:30 p. m. June 14: 23-year-old woman assaulted in home by known person; minor injuries reported case closed/cleared.

■ 1600 block Longwood Drive, midnight-12:30 a.m. June 15: 21-year-old woman assaulted in home by known person; extent of injuries not reported; case inactive.

Property Damage

■ 500 block Battle Street, 1:30-1:35 a.m. June 19: window valued at $100 damaged at home by boyfriend; case inactive.

■ 500 block Becky Anne Drive, 10:23 a.m. June 14-9 a.m. June 18: 25 drain pipes, water supply lines and toilet flanges valued at $5,000 damaged at construction site; investigation ongoing.

■ 3000 block South Memorial Drive, 4:30 p.m. June 15-7:52 a.m. June 18: 2010 Ford Econoline 100 sustained $300 in damages; case inactive.

■ 1800 block Quail Ridge Road, 11 p.m. June 13-10 a.m. June 14: 2017 Jeep Compass valued at $20,000 damaged in parking lot; case inactive.

■ 100 block Stancill Road, 9 p.m. June 8-3 a.m. June 9: window pane and window pane frame of residence sustained $300 in damages; investigation ongoing.
