Officers were called to investigate a reported sex offense about 1:30 a.m. Friday and arrested a man for sexual battery, according to a Greenville Police Department report issued on Friday.

The report indicated the incident occurred at a restaurant but did not disclose its location. It indicated a 20-year-old woman was groped. A 49-year-old man was charged with sexual battery and disorderly conduct.

GREENVILLE

The police department released reports Friday with the following details and allegations:

Best Buy targeted

■ Thieves attempted to take several items from Best Buy in separate incidents at the Evans Street electronics store on Thursday. The first occurred about 10:30 a.m. An Xbox wireless controller and four Nintendo Switch video games valued at $125 were stolen. A 21-year-old man was arrested. An iRobot vacuum valued at $250 was stolen about 7:45 p.m. and Sony PlayStation 4 valued at $300 was stolen from Best Buy about 8 p.m. No arrests were reported in those incidents.

Break-ins, thefts

■ 1900 block Hyde Drive, 10:20 p.m. July 12: bicycle valued at $100 stolen from home; investigation ongoing.

■ 1800 block Rosemont Drive, 10 p.m. July 11-9:30 p.m. July 12: ladder valued at $255.55 stolen from garage; case inactive.

■ 714  S.E. Greenville Blvd., 8-8:22 p.m. July 12: four Polo shirts valued at $158 stolen from Belk; investigation ongoing.

■ 714 S.E. Greenville Blvd., 6:14 p.m. July 12: pots and pans set and Instapot valued at $299.98 stolen from Belk; case inactive; warrants obtained.

■ 600 block West 14th St., 9 p.m. July 2-10 p.m. July 3: wallet containing driver’s license, social security card, various bank cards and birth certificate valued at $20 stolen from woman in parking lot; case inactive.

Assaults

■ 1400 block East 10th Street, 5-5:15 p.m. July 12: 29-year-old woman assaulted in school by known person; extent of injuries not reported; investigation ongoing.

■ 1300 block Colonial Avenue, 7:45 a.m.-12:58 p.m. July 11: 18-year-old woman assaulted in home by boyfriend; extent of injuries not reported; 17-year-old man arrested and charged with simple assault.

■ 3700 block Charles Boulevard, 6:15 a.m. July 11: 18-year-old woman assaulted in restaurant; extent of injuries not reported; case inactive.

■ 1900 block Kennedy Circle, 9:45-9:55 p.m. June 27: 20-year-old woman assaulted in field by acquaintance; minor injuries reported; 19-year-old man arrested and charged with assault on a female.

■ 2300 block Vineyard Drive, 10-11 a.m. July 12: 35-year-old woman assaulted in home by child; extent of injuries not reported; 16-year-old woman assaulted in home by parent; minor injuries reported; investigation ongoing.

The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office released reports Friday with the following details and allegations:

Break-ins, thefts

■ 3300 block NC 121, near Farmville, 10:45-10:48 p.m. July 11: Apple Macbook Pro valued at $1,200 stolen from office building; investigation ongoing.

■ 1600 block Lee Street, 6:05-6:10 p.m. July 11: box Newport menthol cigarettes valued at $5 stolen from home by boyfriend; investigation ongoing.

■ 3100 block NC 121, near Farmville, midnight July 10: Honda Accord of unlisted year valued at $2,000 stolen from open land area; case closed/cleared.

Assaults

■ 1900 block Buck Lane, 11:20-11:22 p.m. July 11: 32-year-old woman assaulted in road by acquaintance; minor injuries reported; arrest made.

■ 1900 block King Drive, 8:20 p.m. July 11: 61-year-old woman assaulted in home by acquaintance; minor injuries reported; arrest made.

Property Damage

■ 5800 block Allen Gay Road, near Farmville, 1 a.m. July 11-12:45 a.m. July 12: Chevrolet Tahoe of unlisted year and four tires sustained $3,800 in damages in parking lot; investigation ongoing.
