ROCKY MOUNT — The Rocky Mount Police Department has released a surveillance photo of a bank robber who knocked off the Wells Fargo bank Monday on Benvenue Road.

The bank robber is described as a white man wearing a dark colored shirt, khaki cargo shorts, dark-colored cloth or mask covering his face and carrying a bag.

The bank robber entered the bank and jumped over the counter, grabbed money from the teller's workstation, jumped back over the counter and ran out of the bank. He last was seen running toward Gold Rock Road.

Anyone with tips can call Detective S. Clifton at 972-1454 or Twin County CrimeStoppers at 977-1111. Tips can be texted to police at 274637 by beginning messages with RMPOL to direct the tip to the Rocky Mount Police Department and type up to 155 characters about the information.
