Greenville Police arrested a 26-year-old Greenville man after witnesses said he fired shots at another person about 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Officers were dispatched to Douglas Avenue where they found a victim who claimed to have been shot at.

“Shots were fired in the area but no one was injured,” Lt. Carlton Williams said.

Kareem Gibbs later was identified as the shooter and was arrested a short time later.

Gibbs made his first court appearance on Thursday morning at the Pitt County Detention Center. A judge kept Gibb's bond at $60,000 and gave him a court-appointed lawyer.

Gibbs is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and felony possession of cocaine. His next court date is on August 22.

■ 4600 E. 10th St., 11:38 a.m.-12 p.m. July 25: air compressor and lighting kit valued at $104.76 stolen from Walmart; investigation ongoing.

■ 4600 E. 10th St., 1:17-1:24 p.m. July 28: Samsung sound bar valued at $294 stolen from Walmart; investigation ongoing.

■ 4600 E. 10th St., 5:17-5:30 p.m. July 23: futon valued at $139 stolen from Walmart; investigation ongoing.

■ 4600 E. 10th St., 11:29-11:59 p.m. June 24: ECU backpack, HBA-DFM and 55-inch TV, all valued at $445.34, stolen from Walmart; investigation ongoing.

■ 714 S. E. Greenville Blvd., 10:59 a.m. Aug. 7: Zelo men’s shirt valued at $30 stolen from Belk; arrest made.

■ 4600 E. 10th St., 3:30-5 p.m. Aug. 2: two air fryers, four lawn mowers and multiple eight-packs of batteries, all valued at $908.10, stolen from Walmart and recovered; investigation ongoing.

■ 210 S. W. Greenville Blvd., 2:53 p.m. July 30: miscellaneous products of unlisted value stolen from Walmart; investigation ongoing.

■ 210 S. W. Greenville Blvd., 10:37 p.m. July 14: mini refrigerator valued at $130.33 stolen from Walmart; investigation ongoing.

■ 2530 S. Memorial Drive, 12:25-12:31 p.m. Aug. 4: Delicious Deals Buddy Bars, Gatorade and Sterio ear buds, all valued at $12.50, stolen from Family Dollar; case inactive.

Assaults

■ 2500 block Bluff View Court, 11:30 p.m. Aug. 8-11:30 p.m. Aug. 9: 62-year-old woman assaulted in home by acquaintance; extent of injuries not reported; 2014 Toyota Camry sustained $200 in damages; arrest made.

■ 1500 block Bridle Circle, 6:40 p.m. Aug. 8: 21-year-old woman assaulted in home by spouse; extent of injuries not reported; arrest made.

■ 500 block S. Memorial Drive, 6:29 p.m. Aug. 8: 30-year-old man assaulted in home; moderate injuries reported; investigation ongoing.

■ 3000 block Clubway Drive, 1-1:15 p.m. Aug. 8: 27-year-old woman assaulted in residence by ex-boyfriend; extent of injuries not reported; case inactive.

Property Damage

■ 3500 block U.S. 264, 1:21 a.m. Aug. 9: 2007 Buick of unknown model sustained $2,000 in damages along road; case inactive.

■ 700 block Bradley Street, 8:30 p.m. Aug. 7-4 p.m. Aug. 8: 1998 Toyota Corolla sustained $1,000 in damages along road; case inactive.

■ 100 block Cherry Court Drive, 1:30-10 a.m. Aug. 8: 2000 Ford Victoria sustained $200 in damages in parking lot; case inactive.

■ 100 Brownlea Drive, 9 p.m. Aug. 7-4 a.m. Aug. 8: 2010 Ford Victoria sustained $6,000 in damages; in parking lot; case inactive.

■ 3000 block Reba Drive, 3:50 p.m. Aug. 8: 28-year-old man assaulted at home by girlfriend; no injuries reported; case closed/cleared; victim refused to cooperate.

Property Damage

■ 4500 block U.S. 264 West/Mozingo Road, 10 p.m. Aug. 8-8:51 a.m. Aug. 9: four windows and the convertible top of vehicle sustained $2,500 in damages by blunt object; case closed/cleared; victim refused to cooperate.
