Three people were left with evident injuries after a two-car crash according to a State Highway Patrol report.

The crash took place on Aug. 30 on U.S. 13 near Frog Level Road and Davenport Farm Road, according to a weekly review of crashes investigated by the Highway Patrol.

Ariel Nicole Lee of Pikeville and John Walter Edwards of Farmville both were driving east on U.S. 13 when Lee’s 2015 Dodge ran in the back of the 2005 Honda driven by Edwards.

According to the report, Lee failed to reduce speed.  Both vehicles came to rest near the area of impact.

Lee was traveling at 35 mph at the time of the crash, and Edwards’s Honda was stopped according to the Highway Patrol. The speed limit for that section of road is 55 mph.

Lee and Edwards along with a juvenile passenger in Edwards’s vehicle were injured but no one required transport, the report stated.

Lee was charged with careless and reckless driving and driving while license revoked.

The wreck is among other 14 crashes that the State Highway Patrol investigated recently in Pitt County, according to reports available between Aug. 27 and Monday. Wrecks involving deer and other animals are not included.
