Man strikes deputy's car while fleeing scene

Sheriff’s deputies arrested two Greenville men during a surveillance operation on Tuesday according to law enforcement officials.
Timothy Wayne Daggs Jr. and Amir Di Jon Daggs were stopped in a parking lot in the 1400 block of Charles Boulevard, and were found to be in possession of a stolen 9mm handgun valued at $300, two bags of marijuana, a digital scale and a box of plastic baggies, officials said.
Timothy Daggs crashed into a deputy’s vehicle, causing $1,000 in damages, according to an arrest warrant. He then sped away from the scene of the investigation but was apprehended a short while later.
Amir Daggs was charged with possession of a firearm by felon and booked in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $5,000 bond.
Timothy Daggs was charged with resisting public officer, injury to personal property, assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, flee/elude arrest with a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, possession of a stolen firearm, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for a controlled substance and possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana. He was booked in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $100,000 bond.
The police department released reports Wednesday with the following details and allegations:
■ 2100 block South Village Drive, 5-6 p.m. Sept. 5: one pair of Timberland boots valued at $120 stolen by ex-boyfriend; case inactive.
■ 2500 block Saddleback Drive, noon-4 p.m. Sept. 5: home entered through front window; various children’s toys and various infant clothing items valued at $800 stolen; investigation ongoing.
■ 2400 block County Home Road, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 5: home entered by force through back door; door sustained $250 in damages; investigation ongoing.
■ 3140 Evans St., 8-9 p.m. Sept. 4: one boombox wireless speaker valued at $476.99 stolen from Best Buy and recovered; investigation ongoing.
■ 3700 block Bostic Drive, 3-6:15 a.m. Sept. 5: property damage reported; damaged items not listed; case inactive.
■ 2700 block South Memorial Drive, 10 p.m. Sept. 1-3:50 p.m. Sept. 2: 2014 red-black Jeep Cherokee sustained $500 in damages; investigation ongoing.
The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office released reports Tuesday with the following details and allegations:
■ 3000 block Tyson Street, near Stokes, noon Sept. 3-7 a.m. Sept. 4: 60 tablets of Adderall, 60 tablets of Klonopin, and 30 tablets of Oxycodone all valued at $30 stolen; case closed/cleared: prosecution declined.
■ 100 block N.C. 903 North, 5:30 p.m. Sept. 4-11 a.m. Sept. 5: vehicle tags valued at $28 stolen; investigation ongoing.
■ 3800 block Hocutt Lane, near Grimesland, 3:35-3:49 Sept. 5: 29-year-old woman assaulted by boyfriend; no injuries reported; investigation ongoing.
■ 400 block Black Jack Simpson Road, 5:15-5:20 p.m. Sept. 4: property damage by neighbor reported; damaged items not listed; case closed; leads exhausted.
■ 200 block River Road Estates Road, 11:03 p.m. Sept. 4: iPhone 7+ valued at $500 stolen by boyfriend; case closed/cleared: victim refused to cooperate.
