A 29-year-old man was charged with driving while impaired after traveling more than 95 mph in a 55 mph zone near N.C. 11 and Earnest Taylor Road near Grifton at 3:59 p.m. on Aug. 30, according to a weekly review of Pitt County court records.

Patrick Vaughn Mitchell, 29, of 2504 Quail Lane, Deep Run, drove 95 mph in a 55 zone and had a blood alcohol level of 0.14.  

Mitchell was among six people charged with driving while impaired according to court records and law enforcement reports available between Aug. 26 and Sept. 2. In the other cases, court documents indicate:

■ Tatyana Michelle Allison, 22, of 4420 Bostic Drive, was stopped at 2 a.m. on Sept. 2 near U.S. 264 and Old Pactolus Road by the State Highway Patrol. she also was charged with driving 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. She had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath, red, glassy eyes, a green wristband from a club and was observed staggering. Her blood alcohol level was 0.14.

■ Nicholus Anthony Locascio, 21, of 2500 E. Fourth Street, was stopped at 11:46 p.m. on Aug. 31, near Founder’s Drive and Chancellor’s Way by the East Carolina University Police Department. He failed to stop for a stop sign and was unable to walk and turn around. He had red, glassy eyes. His blood alcohol level was 0.14 had red, glassy eyes.

■ Miranda Teresa Manuel, 22, of 512 Birchwood Drive, was stopped at 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 2, near U.S. 264 and N.C. 33 by the State Highway Patrol. She had red, glassy eyes. Her blood alcohol level was 0.08. 

■ Edgar Andrade Salas,38 , of 2014 Redman Ave, was stopped at 5:37 a.m. on Aug. 31, near N.C. 33 and U.S. 264 by the State Highway Patrol.  Police Department. He was observed sleeping and had red, glassy eyes. His blood alcohol level was 0.18. 

■ Jon Carlos Diaz Torrencee, 20, of 1203 Highland Ave, Kinston, was stopped at 2:35 a.m. on Sept. 2, near N.C. 11 and Beacon Drive by the Winterville Police Department. He had a moderate odor of alcohol on his breath. His blood alcohol level was 0.09.
