Man jailed on meth trafficking charges

A Greenville man was jailed at the Pitt County Detention Center under a $1 million bond on charges he trafficked more than a pound of methamphetamine over the weekend.

Pitt County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested and charged Victor Moralez Lopez, 36, of 1608 Lennie Lane, Saturday, with two counts of trafficking methamphetamine and one count of maintaining a dwelling/place for the sale of a controlled substance. 

Arrest warrants indicate Lopez used his 2002 GMC Yukon to store and distribute the drugs.

■ 6300 block N.C. 11 North, near Bethel, 7-10:20 a.m. Sept. 7: nine batteries valued at $225 stolen; investigation ongoing.

■ 3700 block Alvin Road, 7:50 a.m.-6 p.m. Sept. 5: one article of clothing valued at $300 stolen from home; investigation ongoing.

■ 2900 block Ruth Drive, 12-12:01 p.m. Sept. 2: 63-year-old woman assaulted by family member; minor injuries reported; investigation ongoing.

■ 500 block Sands Road, 1:17 p.m. Sept. 9: 42-year-old woman assaulted by boyfriend; no injuries reported; investigation ongoing.

■ 300 block Linda Drive, 9-9:30 p.m. Sept. 9: 29-year-old woman assaulted by child; minor injuries reported; case closed/cleared; victim refused to cooperate.

■ 1900 block Sunnybrook Road, 11:30 p.m. Sept. 9: 63-year-old woman assaulted by husband; no injuries reported; case closed/cleared; unfounded.

Property Damage
