Greenville man seriously injured in assault

A 21-year-old man suffered serious injuries after he was assaulted with an unknown weapon in a parking lot, Greenville police said.

The incident took place in the 100 block of Lakeview Terrace on Wednesday between 8:10 p.m. and 8:25 p.m. according to a Greenville Police Department case report. 

The case is inactive and warrants have been obtained for the person police believe is responsible.  


The police department released reports Wednesday-Thursday with the following details and allegations:

Break-ins, thefts

■ Merry Lane, 11 p.m. Sept. 18-8:15 a.m. Sept. 19: Macbook Pro 13 valued at $1,600 stolen; investigation ongoing.

■ 612 S.W. Greenville Blvd., 12:10-12:15 a.m. Sept. 17: upper side window of Speedway smashed to gain entry, $300 in damages; 12 packs of Newport cigarettes valued at $65.09 stolen and recovered; 59-year-old man arrested and charged with two counts of felony breaking and entering and two counts of larceny after breaking and entering.

■ 700 block Southwest Greenville Boulevard, noon-3 p.m. Sept. 16: license plate valued at $25 stolen; investigation ongoing.

■ 401 E. Fourth St., 5 p.m. Sept. 11-8 a.m. Sept. 12: 12 wooden entry/exit signs valued at $4,000 stolen from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church; investigation ongoing.

■ 2800 block Edwards Street, 9 p.m. Sept. 18-8 a.m. Sept. 19: unspecified quantity of bicycles valued at $500 stolen; case closed/leads exhausted.

■ 200 block Columbia Avenue, 1:45-1:52 a.m. Sept. 19: break-in to vehicle reported; no items listed as stolen; investigation ongoing.


■ 700 block Patton Circle, 8 p.m. Sept. 14-6:46 p.m. Sept. 15: 19-year-old woman assaulted by ex-boyfriend; extent of injuries not reported; case inactive.

Property Damage

■ 700 block Hooker Road, 10:50 p.m. Sept. 19: wall siding and shattered side window of home sustained $200 in damages; investigation ongoing.

■ 200 block North Sylvan Drive, 8:30-9:14 p.m. Sept. 19: 1996 gray Ford Ranger pickup truck sustained $3,000 in damages by known person; investigation ongoing.

■ 1500 block West Fourth Street, 1-2 a.m. Sept. 17: property damage reported; damaged items not listed; case inactive.

■ 900 block Spring Forest Road, 5-5:01 p.m. Sept. 14: property damage by neighbor reported; damaged items not listed; case closed/cleared.

The sheriff’s office released reports Wednesday-Thursday with the following details and allegations:

■ 1900 block Longleaf Lane, 12:58 p.m. Sept. 18: unspecified cancer medication valued at $100 stolen; case closed/leads exhausted.

■ 100 block Prickly Pear Drive, 5 p.m. Sept. 15-10 a.m. Sept. 16: jewelry valued at $300 stolen from vehicle; investigation ongoing.

■ 3200 block Kings Branch Drive, 11:23-11:24 p.m. Sept. 19: Hyundai Sonata sustained $500 in damages with blunt object by a family member; investigation ongoing.
