Greenville Police Department seized 4.4 lbs of heroin during a traffic stop on Monday night, near Arlington Blvd and Stantonsburg Road, according to a department news release issued Tuesday.

The heroin, which police said has a value of $500,000, was concealed in a natural void in one of the two vehicles, according to the release.

An investigation revealed that Darien Omar Morales, 25, of Norcross, Ga., and Isaac Benitez Sebastian, 30, of Raleigh were involved in trafficking heroin into Greenville, police said.

Morales and Sebastian each are charged with trafficking opium/heroin and conspiracy to traffic in heroin. They currently are  booked in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $2 million dollar bond.

The Greenville Regional Drug Task Force is comprised of Law Enforcement Officers from the Greenville Police Department, Winterville Police Department, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, The Drug Enforcement Administration, and East Carolina University Police Department.
