Pedestrian robbed at gunpoint on 10th Street

Friday, November 2, 2018

A man was robbed at gunpoint by three men while walking along the 10th Street early Thursday morning, according to a case report released by the Greenville Police Department.

The incident took place about 1:04 a.m. between Cookout and Copper Beech Apartments, the report said.

The victim reported he was walking toward the apartments from Cookout when the men confronted him, stole money from his wallet and punched him in the face, Public Information Officer Kristin Hunter said.

The injuries were not life-threatening, and the victim was able to speak to officers at Vidant Medical Center about an hour after the incident took place, Hunter said. An investigation is ongoing.

The police department released reports Wednesday and Thursday with the following details and allegations:

Woman assaulted

A 38-year-old woman was assaulted at gunpoint on Monday afternoon, according to a case report released Wednesday. The incident took place in the 100 block of David Drive about 1:27 p.m.on Monday, the report said.

The woman was arguing with a man in a parking lot when she alleged he pointed a gun at her, Hunter said. No injuries were reported.

Hunter said the man provided a false name when speaking with officers. He was later identified as Desuene Tyree Wilson and charged with identity theft for providing the false name and assault by pointing a gun.

The officers noticed that Wilson also had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear, which they served Wilson with at the time of his arrest.
