A Greenville-area teen has been arrested and charged in an armed robbery that occurred last month north of town, the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office reported on Thursday.

Ja’Keis Spencer Wiggins, 17, of Sterling Pointe Drive was among several people who participated in a robbery at 6:18 p.m. on Nov. 13 at the Keith Drive address for a trailer in a mobile home park off of Barrus Construction Road.

Sheriff’s office spokesman Kip Gaskins said the victim was a Hispanic man. He was robbed of cash, credit and debit cards and a cell phone by Wiggins and some other men, Gaskins said in the release.

The investigation is ongoing and Gaskins said more arrests are expected.   Wiggins is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and was jailed in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $150,000 bond.

Gaskins encouraged residents to report any tips to CrimeStoppers at 252-758-7777. CrimeStoppers offers rewards of up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest.
