Nightclub suspect returns, arrested in line

Saturday, December 15, 2018

A man caught on surveillance video breaking into Still Life nightclub last week was arrested the next day while waiting in line to enter the club legally, according to the Greenville Police Department.

A case report indicated a man broke into the club at 511 Contanche St. about 7 a.m. on Dec. 7. Police department spokeswoman Kristen Hunter said he climbed a wall and jumped an exterior railing on the second floor to enter the building.

No items were stolen, but the business captured “excellent surveillance footage which helped officers tremendously,” Hunter said.

“Coincidentally, the same guy showed up in line to enter Still Life the next night. Officers immediately recognized him and he was arrested at that time.”

The man was identified as 27-year-old Shaib Zayyad. He was charged with felony breaking and entering.
