A 35-year-old Winterville man was charged with driving while impaired after police found him in the middle of an intersection asleep at the wheel with the car running.  

Antwynne McCoy Harris of 122 Pinewood Drive was asleep in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle as it was stopped at the intersection of N.C. 11 and Davenport Farm Road while a green signal light was displayed.

He was cited on Dec. 9 at 5:13 a.m. by The Winterville Police Department. An officer noted that he could smell alcohol on Harris’ breath. Harris’ blood alcohol level was 0.11.

Harris was among 10 other people charged with driving while impaired according to court records and law enforcement reports available between Dec. 2 and Dec. 9.  In the other cases, court documents indicate:

■ Kevin Earl Bradley, 37, of 3350 Old River Road, Greenville, was stopped at 9:17 p.m. on Dec. 5 near U.S. 13 and Airport Road by the State Highway Patrol. He also was cited for failing to maintain lane control. He had red, glassy eyes, slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. His blood alcohol level was 0.15.

■ Matthew Frederick Donnelly, 25, of 535 Methven Grove, Cary, was stopped at 1:22 p.m. on Dec. 3 near Elm Street and 10th Street by the Greenville Police Department. He had glassy eyes. His blood alcohol level was 0.24.

■ Unique Renee Douglas, 36, of 2429 Mulberry Lane, was stopped at 8:08 p.m. on Dec. 8 near N.C. 33 by the State Highway Patrol. She was observed driving left of center twice and had an open container of beer in the car. She had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath, slurred speech and was unsteady on her feet. She also was charged with driving without a license. Her blood alcohol level was 0.15.

■ John Garfield Farrare Jr, 46, of 2840 204 E. fourth street, Weldon, was stopped at 12:05 a.m.on Dec.3 near West Third Street and Ford Street by the Greenville Police Department. He was also cited for going 84 mph in a 55 mph zone. He had red, glassy eyes. His blood alcohol level was 0.12.

■ Edward Patrick Graves, 38, of 153 Wellingham Ave., Greenville, was stopped at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 8 near Reedy Branch Road by the Winterville Police Department. He had red, glassy eyes, a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, slurred speech and was driving with a revoked license. His blood alcohol level was 0.14.

■ Galina Michelle Hardison,26, of 2242 Valley Drive was stopped at 3:17 a.m. on Dec. 5 near Reedy Branch Road and Forlines Road by the Winterville Police Department. She had red eyes and a strong odor of alcohol on her breath. Her blood alcohol level was 0.11.

■ Reginald Wayne Highsmith,29, of 3210 Moseley Drive, Greenville, was stopped at 12:05 a.m. on Dec.8 on U.S. 264 by the State Highway Patrol. He also was cited for going 69 mph in a 55 mph zone. He had red, glassy eyes and a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. He was unsteady on his feet and falling down. His blood alcohol level was 0.14.

■ David Wayne Hurcombe, 53, of 1944 Diamond Lane, Kinston, was stopped at 1:22 a.m. near Forlines Road by the Winterville Police Department. He had red, glassy eyes and was unsteady on his feet. He refused a breathalyzer test.

■ Morgan Nicole Lovick, 26, of 3105 Sherry Drive, Raleigh, was stopped at 1 p.m. on Dec. 7 on N.C. 11 and Davenport Farm Road by the Winterville Police Department. She was observed going northbound in a southbound lane. Her car also smelled of alcohol and she had red, glassy eyes. Her blood alcohol level was 0.24.

■ Jackie Robinson II, 35, of 100 Brownlea Drive, Greenville, was stopped at 12:08 a.m. on Dec.8 near First and Reade Street by the East Carolina University Police Department. He was driving with no headlights.  He admitted to drinking and had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath. His blood alcohol level was 0.10.
