The Belk in Greenville was victimized by theft two times over the weekend, according to two case reports released by the Greenville Police Department.

The first incident took place between 7:35 and 7:48 a.m. on Saturday.

Belk’s regular hours of operation are 10 a.m. through 9 p.m. on Saturday. The report said that Belk was entered without force through an unspecified manner.

A turnstile display with an unspecified quantity of 14-karat gold earrings and necklaces, all valued at $36,000, was stolen, according to the report.

An investigation is ongoing.

The second incident took place between 4:30 and 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Nine men’s shirts and sweaters, all valued at $754, were reported stolen from Belk and recovered.

An arrest has been made in the Sunday case.


The police department released reports Monday with the following details and allegations:

Break-ins, thefts

■ 200 block South Jarvis Street, 3-3:30 a.m. Dec. 29: 20 articles of clothing, all valued at $400, stolen by known person; investigation ongoing.

■ 3200 block Moonlight Way, 11 a.m.-1:25 p.m. Dec. 29: Mega Boom 3 speaker valued at $200 stolen from residence; investigation ongoing.

■ 2800 block Gateway Drive, 8:40-8:50 a.m. Dec. 29: unspecified item valued at $100 stolen from Walmart; investigation ongoing.

■ 210 S.W. Greenville Blvd., 4:26-4:29 p.m. Dec. 28: one pack of women’s socks, a six-pack of Hanes white shirts, one child sleep set, one pack of men’s socks, three pairs of jeans and three tank tops, all valued at $108.35, stolen from Walmart; investigation ongoing.

■ 3801 S. Memorial Drive, 3:45-4:15 p.m. Dec. 28: larceny reported at Walmart; stolen items not listed; case closed/cleared by citation.

The sheriff’s office released reports Monday with the following details and allegations:

■ 5500 block Promise Drive, near Washington, 4:45-5 p.m. Dec. 27: Ford Explorer of unlisted value stolen; case cleared: prosecution declined.

■ 2500 block Mozingo Road, 4:45 p.m. Dec. 20: Sony touch-screen radio, two Rockford 1000-watt amplifiers, two Rockford 12-inch subwoofers, an HP laptop and four American Racing tire rims, all valued at $4,500, stolen from vehicle; case active.

■ 7300 block Stantonsburg Road, near Farmville, 11 a.m.-7:05 p.m. Dec. 28: two PlayStation 4s, one Xbox One, one 65-inch TV, one 40-inch TV, two Samsung tablets and two computer monitors, all valued at $3,000, stolen from home; case active.

■ 1800 block Allen Road, midnight Dec. 26-1 p.m. Dec. 29: vertical air compressor valued at $190 stolen; case active.

■ 2900 block Wilson Street, near Stokes, 7:27 p.m. Dec. 29: 22-year-old man robbed at knifepoint; iPhone valued at $800 and $404 in cash reported stolen; case active.

■ 1300 block Hope Drive, 4:56 p.m. Dec. 30: break-in to home by family member reported; no items listed as stolen; case active.

■ 3200 block Old River Road, 8:20-8:21 p.m. Dec. 30: break-in reported at home; no items listed as stolen; case active.


■ 1500 block Stocks Lane, 3 a.m. Dec. 28: 67-year-old man assaulted at home by child; no injuries reported; case cleared.

■ 2200 block Scarlette Ohara Drive, 1-2:30 a.m. Dec. 30:19-year-old woman assaulted by boyfriend; minor injuries reported; case active.

■ 4000 block Tabitha Lane, 8:55-9:30 a.m. Dec. 30: 23-year-old woman assaulted at home by husband; no injuries reported; case active.

■ 2900 block Birdsong Circle, near Grimesland, 2-2:21 p.m. Dec. 30: 18-year-old man assaulted by girlfriend; minor injuries reported; case active.

Property Damage

■ 3500 block Kings Crossroads Road, 6:38 p.m. Dec. 30: Chevrolet Impala sustained $500 in damages from known person; case cleared.
