Three injured in three car crash

A New York woman injured herself, her passenger and two others after her vehicle crossed the centerline in a Greenville-area wreck, according to a State Highway Patrol report.

The crash took place at 5:33 p.m. on Dec. 26 on N.C. 43 and Joe Stocks Road near Greenville.  

Arlene Kluck of Palisades, New York, was traveling north on N.C. 43 in her 2018 Kia SUV when she crossed the centerline and collided with a 2016 Jeep SUV being driven by Katherine Doyle of New Bern.

After colliding with Doyle’s Jeep,  Kluck’s vehicle ran off the road to the left and struck a driveway culvert before coming to a stop on the shoulder of the roadway.   

Doyle’s Jeep ran off the road to the right and crossed the centerline, colliding with a 2015 Kia passenger vehicle being driven by Sally Medich of Jacksonville. Doyle’s Jeep then ran off the road to the left and struck a driveway culvert. 

Medich’s Kia ran off the road to right before coming to a stop on the shoulder of the road 

All three vehicles were going 55 mph at the time of impact.  

Kluck, her passenger and Doyle were transported to Vidant Medical Center with possible injuries.

Kluck’s Kia sustained $35,000 in damages, Doyle’s Jeep sustained $30,000 in damages and Medich’s Kia sustained $15,000 in damages. 

Kluck was charged with traveling left of center. 

The wreck is among 16 crashes that the State Highway Patrol investigated recently in Pitt County, according to reports available between Dec. 24 and Dec.30 Wrecks involving deer and other animals are not included.
