Someone stole two handguns from a car on Emerald Drive on Tuesday night and broke into a second car but stole nothing, according to case reports released by the Greenville Police Department.

The first incident took place between 10 p.m. on Tuesday and 10 a.m. on Wednesday on the 700 block of Emerald Drive, which is located off of Davenport Farm Road in southwest Greenville. 

A Smith & Wesson 40mm compact valued at $450 and a Smith & Wesson 40mm M&P Shield valued at $450, were listed as stolen from the vehicle. An investigation is ongoing.

The second incident took place about 2 a.m. on Wednesday on the 800 block of Emerald Park Drive. A vehicle was entered but no items were listed as stolen, a report said.

The police department released reports Thursday with the following details and allegations:

Break-ins, thefts

■ 1110 N. Memorial Drive, 11:53 p.m. Jan. 16-12:03 a.m. Jan. 17: Speedway entered without force through front door; no items listed as stolen; 50-year-old man arrested and charged with felony breaking and entering, habitual felonies and larceny after breaking or entering.

■ 4600 E. 10th St., 8-8:36 p.m. Jan. 16: unspecified quantity of groceries valued at $207.17 stolen from Walmart and recovered; case closed/cleared by citation.

■ 2000 block Sherwood Drive, 8 p.m. Jan. 16: break-in to residence reported; stolen items not listed; investigation ongoing.

■ 4600 E. 10th St., 5-5:23 p.m. Jan. 16: three unspecified tools valued at $155.91 stolen from Walmart and recovered; one 19-inch travel TV valued at $87 stolen; case closed: prosecution declined.

■ 100 block Stancill Drive, 3-3:20 p.m. Jan. 16: bicycle valued at $85 stolen from home; investigation ongoing.

■ 200 block Beech Street, 9 p.m. Jan. 15-9 a.m. Jan. 16: one six-foot charging cord, one Veex CATV meter, one Otterbox case and one Aspire tablet, all valued at $2,480, stolen from vehicle; investigation ongoing.

■ 703 S.E. Greenville Blvd., 10 a.m. Jan. 9-11:47 a.m. Jan. 16: one 10 piece wing platter and five five-piece wing platters, all valued at $25.11, stolen from Publix; 61-year-old woman arrested and charged with misdemeanor larceny.

■ 2900 E. 10th St., 2:13 p.m. Jan. 11: larceny reported at Capital Automotive by known customer; stolen items not listed; case closed: unfounded.

Assaults

■ 1900 block Norcott Circle, 1:15-1:30 a.m. Jan. 17: 22-year-old man assaulted by known person at residence; serious injuries reported; investigation ongoing.

■ 1300 block Myrtle Street, 11:11 a.m. Jan. 16: 27-year-old woman assaulted at home by boyfriend; minor injuries reported; investigation ongoing.

■ Moye Boulevard and Stantonsburg Road, 9:50-10:02 a.m. Jan. 16: 39-year-old woman, 36-year-old man and juvenile assaulted at gunpoint on road; extent of injuries not reported for any victim; case closed/leads exhausted.

■ 3700 block Bostic Drive, 2:51-5:29 a.m. Jan. 17: 24-year-old woman assaulted at home by girlfriend; moderate injuries reported; 26-year-old woman arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injuries.

Pitt County

The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office released reports Thursday with the following details and allegations:

Break-ins, thefts

■ 700 block South Beaufort Street, near Grimesland, 6:24 p.m. Jan. 16: one trailer, one Tapco brake, one Portercable wood planer, two Rigid framing nailers, one Bosch saw, two air hoses, one extension cord and one Bosch air compressor, all valued at $3,950, stolen from residence; case active.
