Man charged in theft of motor vehicle

A man was arrested on Thursday after stealing a vehicle, according to a case report released by the Greenville Police Department. 

The incident took place between 11 p.m. on Wednesday and 8 a.m. on Thursday. The report listed the address of the incident on the 1700 block of Rosewood Drive, which was specified as the offender’s home.

The vehicle stolen was a 2000 red Jeep Cherokee valued at $3,000. The vehicle was listed as recovered from the offender.

Marcus Soles, 27, was arrested at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday and charged with felony larceny of a motor vehicle.

Break-ins, thefts

■ 3300 block Ellsworth Drive, 6 p.m. Feb. 13-8 a.m. Feb. 14: gas station rewards card, pair of Costa sunglasses and GPS, all valued at $400, stolen from vehicle; investigation ongoing.

■ 210 S.W. Greenville Blvd., 7-7:30 p.m. Feb. 14: 21 unspecified grocery items, all valued at $113.27, stolen from Walmart; case closed: victim refused to cooperate.

■ 650 Whitley Drive, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 13: 12-pack of Miller High Life beer valued at $7.99 and 12-pack of Corona beer valued at $15.39 stolen from Sheetz; investigation ongoing.

■ 2400 S. Memorial Drive, 5:45-6:16 p.m. Feb. 13: unspecified quantity of miscellaneous merchandise valued at $44 stolen from Roses Express and recovered; case closed/cleared by citation.


■ 500 block West Fifth Street, 1 a.m. Feb. 15: 17-year-old man and juvenile assaulted at gunpoint on road; extent of injuries not reported; case inactive.

■ 500 block East Third Street, 12:20-12:27 a.m. Feb. 15: 64-year-old man assaulted by child; extent of injuries not reported; case closed: victim refused to cooperate.

■ 200 block Nash Street, 4-4:04 a.m. Feb. 14: 32-year-old man assaulted at home by girlfriend; minor injuries reported; case inactive/warrants obtained.

■ 200 block Lewis Street, 9:30 p.m. Feb. 13: 20-year-old man and 21-year-old man assaulted at home by known person; extent of injuries not reported; charge list also indicated minors were consuming alcohol; TV sustained $100 in damages; case inactive.

■ 100 block River Bluff Road, 2:45-3:30 p.m. Feb. 8: assault on female reported at home; victim details and extent of injuries not reported; investigation ongoing.

Property Damage

■ 1700 block Rosewood Drive, 1:50-3 p.m. Feb. 14: 2000 red Jeep Cherokee sustained $500 in damages; case closed/cleared.

■ 4400 block Stantonsburg Road, 5:40 a.m. Feb. 13:  Garmin GPS valued at $250 and pack of cigarettes valued at $5 stolen from vehicle; case active.

■ 1700 block Belvoir Highway, 8 p.m. Feb. 12-8:50 a.m. Feb. 13: break-in to home reported; stolen items not listed; case active.

■ 6000 block Weyerhaeuser Road, near Grifton, 10 p.m. Feb. 11-9:30 a.m. Feb. 13: video storage device, Google Home, landline telephone and internet router, all valued at $305, stolen from home; case active.

■ 2100 block Vale Court, near Winterville, midnight Feb. 8-7 p.m. Feb. 12: one Lincoln Continental vehicle valued at $3,000 stolen by known person and recovered; case cleared: prosecution declined.

■ 4400 block Stantonsburg Road, 5:51 a.m. Feb. 13: magazine valued at $10 stolen from vehicle; case status not listed.

■ 2700 block Cox Farm Road, 4-4:01 p.m. Feb. 12: $1,200 in cash stolen from home; case active.

Property Damage

■ 700 block Belvoir Highway, 9:08 p.m. Feb. 12: Ford Fusion sustained $800 in damages; case active.
