Armed intruder steals cash from residence

An armed suspect forcibly entered a home during a robbery reported on Thursday, according to a case report released by the Greenville Police Department.

The incident took place between 11:30 p.m. on April 3 and 3:06 a.m. on April 4 on the 500 block of Battle Street.

An individual armed with a handgun entered the home through the back door using bodily force, the report said.

An unspecified item sustained $200 in damages during the break-in and $200 in cash was listed as stolen from the home.

The report did not specify whether any residents of the home were present during the robbery, but no injuries were listed on the report.

An investigation is ongoing.

■ 700 block Patton Circle, near Winterville, 9-11 a.m. April 3: three unspecified items valued at $54 stolen from home; investigation ongoing.

■ 100 block Chesterfield Court, 4-4:30 p.m. April 3: unspecified item valued at $40 stolen from home by known person; investigation ongoing.

■ 210 S.W. Greenville Blvd., 4:14-4:26 p.m. April 4: 12 miscellaneous household goods, all valued at $87, stolen from Walmart and recovered; investigation ongoing.


■ 2600 block South Memorial Drive, 2:43-2:44 p.m. April 3: 20-year-old woman assaulted by known person; minor injuries reported; unspecified item valued at $1,200 stolen; case inactive.

■ 4300 block Bostic Drive, 4:06-4:07 p.m. April 4: 20-year-old woman assaulted by acquaintance at home; minor injuries reported; investigation ongoing.

■ 3100 block East 10th Street, 5:30-5:45 p.m. April 4: 18-year-old man assaulted at home by acquaintance; minor injuries reported; investigation ongoing.

Property Damage

■ 200 block Verdant Drive, 1-1:50 p.m. April 4: unspecified item at home sustained $150 in damages; investigation ongoing.

■ 600 block Seville Road, midnight April 2-8:45 a.m. April 3: one 9mm Taurus handgun valued at $300 stolen from vehicle; case active.


■ 5000 block July Field Lane, near Grifton, 11:40 p.m. April 3: 58-year-old man assaulted by acquaintance; minor injuries reported; case active.

■ 2200 block Slate Lane, 12:40-12:41 p.m. April 4: 43-year-old woman assaulted at home by boyfriend; no injuries reported; case cleared: victim refused to cooperate.

■ 4100 block N.C. Hwy. 33, 9:35 p.m. April 4: 43-year-old man assaulted at home by wife; no injuries reported; case cleared: prosecution declined.

Property Damage

■ 4200 block Sheppard Mill Road, near Stokes, 1:50 a.m. April 4: vehicle sustained $300 in damages; vehicle details not listed; case active.

■ 900 block South Grimesland Bridge Road, near Grimesland, midnight-11 a.m. April 4: structure of home sustained $50 in damages from a cutting instrument; case closed/leads exhausted.
