Door broken down in armed robbery

A door was forcibly broken down to gain entry to a home during an armed robbery reported on Tuesday, according to a case report released by the Greenville Police Department.

The incident took place about 4 a.m. on April 16 on the 500 block of Spring Forest Road.

The door of the home sustained $300 in damages during the robbery, the report said. No items were listed as stolen.

An investigation is ongoing.


The police department released reports Wednesday with the following details and allegations:

Break-ins, thefts

■ 100 block Sunshine Lane, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. April 16: stolen mail reported at home; value not listed; investigation ongoing.

■ 100 block Ironwood Drive, 9:05-9:38 p.m. April 16: gym bag containing gym equipment, all valued at $500, stolen from vehicle; investigation ongoing.

■ 2800 E. 10th St., 11:20 a.m. April 16: USB plug valued at $3 stolen from Family Dollar; investigation ongoing.


■ 900 block B’s Barbeque Road, 8:07 a.m. April 16: man assaulted at home by known person; minor injuries reported; case inactive.

■ 600 block Cotanche Street, 3:29-3:30 a.m. April 13: man assaulted on sidewalk; minor injuries reported; investigation ongoing.

■ 300 block Spruce Street, 4:30-5 p.m. April 16: woman assaulted by ex-boyfriend; minor injuries reported; Samsung J3 cell phone also sustained $100 in damages; case inactive: prosecution declined.

■ 200 block North Sylvan Drive, 5:30-5:40 p.m. April 16: woman assaulted by sibling; minor injuries reported; investigation ongoing.

Property Damage

■ 1700 block East 14th Street, 7-8:20 p.m. April 16: rear passenger-side window of a 2015 Chevy Silverado sustained $200 in damages; investigation ongoing.

■ 1300 block Elk Horn Court, 1:40-1:41 p.m. April 15: $190 in cash stolen from home and recovered; arrest made.


■ 1400 block Hidden Acres Drive, near Grimesland, 4:03 p.m. April 14-4:05 p.m. April 15: 76-year-old woman assaulted at home by child; no injuries reported; case cleared: victim refused to cooperate.

■ 900 block Jacksontown Road, near Grifton, 8:24-8:25 p.m. April 15: 35-year-old woman assaulted at home; extent of injuries not reported; case active.

■ 4100 block Norris Store Road, near Ayden, 10:10 p.m. April 13: 29-year-old woman assaulted at home by boyfriend; minor injuries reported; LG Stylo 3 phone also sustained $114 in damages; case active.

■ 3400 block Alvin Road, near Grimesland, 7:44 a.m. April 15: 32-year-old man assaulted at home by boyfriend; no injuries reported; case unfounded.

■ 600 block Jean Court, noon-12:15 p.m. April 15: 52-year-old man assaulted at home by child; minor injuries reported; case active.

■ 2200 block Pactolus Highway, 6:22 p.m. April 15: side mirror of a Toyota Corolla sustained $100 in damages; case active.

■ 500 block Eleanor Street, 10:38-10:39 p.m. April 15: landscaping of home sustained an unreported amount of damages; case closed/leads exhausted.
