A bank teller has been charged with conspiring with a friend to rob a bank inside a Greenville Walmart on Sunday, according to a news release issued by the Greenville Police Department.

Officers responded to the robbery at the Woodforest Bank inside the Walmart at 210 S.W. Greenville Blvd. Police reported a man entered the bank, demanded money and left with more than $8,000 cash. No injuries were reported.

An investigation revealed teller Brooklyn Lashae Simmers, 24, conspired with 22-year-old Travarus Barnhill to rob the bank. Simmers was charged the same day with common law robbery and conspiracy to commit common law robbery. 

Barnhill was located early Friday in Highlands, according to the release, and was arrested by the Macon County Sheriff’s Office. He also was charged with common law robbery and conspiracy to commit common law robbery.

■ 4500 Martin Luther King, Jr., Highway, 4:30 p.m. May 23: seven unspecified items and a camo visor, all valued at $52.42, stolen from Agri Supply; investigation ongoing.

Assaults

■ 400 block Deck Street, 5:33 a.m. May 23: 50-year-old woman assaulted at home by boyfriend; no injuries reported; investigation ongoing.

■ 400 block Verdant Drive, 11 a.m.-noon May 23: 27-year-old woman assaulted at home; minor injuries reported; 31-year-old man arrested and charged with assault on a female.

■ 570 Forlines Road, 8:31 p.m. May 23: juvenile assaulted by known person at South Central High School; minor injuries reported; investigation ongoing.

Property Damage

■ 1700 block Bloomsbury Road, 11:21 p.m. May 23: lawn equipment sustained $50 in damages from child of victim; investigation ongoing.

■ 6800 block West Wilson Street, near Fountain, 10:30 a.m. May 16-11:04 a.m. May 22: 64-year-old man assaulted with a knife by acquaintance; no injuries reported; case active.

■ 400 block Pam Drive, 11-11:15 a.m. May 22: 59-year-old woman assaulted at home by husband; no injuries reported; case active.

■ 3700 block Bell Road, near Fountain, 7:20 p.m. May 23: 38-year-old woman assaulted at residence by ex-husband; minor injuries reported; arrest made.

■ 500 Barrus Construction Road, 1:54 a.m. May 24: 31-year-old man assaulted; minor injuries reported; case active.

■ 1900 block L.T. Hardee Road, 8:25 a.m. May 23: 40-year-old woman assaulted at home by child; no injuries reported; 22-year-old man assaulted at home by sibling; minor injuries reported; arrest made.

■ 400 block Pacific Circle, 9:40-9:45 a.m. May 23: attempted murder with a firearm reported by 18-year-old man; minor injuries reported; case active.

■ 1600 block Deejay Lane, 1:30 a.m.-3:40 p.m. May 23: 39-year-old woman assaulted at home by boyfriend; no injuries reported; case active.
