Handgun, cash stolen from vehicle

A handgun and $3,000 in cash were stolen from a vehicle on Heath Street, according to a case report released Monday by the Greenville Police Department.

The incident took place between 1 a.m. July 4 and 10 a.m. July 5 in a parking lot in the 800 block of Heath Street, the report said.

A black 9mm Taurus pistol valued at $300, $3,000 in cash and a bookbag valued at $30 were listed as stolen from the vehicle.

The case status was listed as inactive.


The police department released reports Tuesday with the following details and allegations:

Break-ins, thefts

■ 4600 E. 10th St., 1:10 p.m. July 7: eleven unspecified items valued at $59.82 stolen from Walmart and recovered; case closed/cleared.

■ 2105 Dickinson Ave., 3:01 p.m. July 7: six unspecified items valued at $120 stolen from Piggly Wiggly; investigation ongoing.

■ 300 block Lindsay Drive, 2:30 p.m. July 2-8 a.m. July 7: one Taurus firearm valued at $266 stolen from residence; investigation ongoing.

Property Damage

■ 400 block East Fire Tower Road, 10 p.m. July 7-11 a.m. July 8: black Mercedes-Benz E350 sustained $300 in damages; case inactive.

■ 3300 block Frontgate Drive, 2:30 a.m. July 7: silver 2004 Jeep Cherokee sustained $250 in damages; case inactive.

■ 6600 block US 13, near Farmville, 8 a.m. June 23-10 p.m. July 6: $10,000 in cash stolen from home by child of victim; case active.


■ 1700 block Brown Place Drive, 9:27 p.m. July 7: 45-year-old man assaulted by known person; no injuries reported; case active.

■ 3200 block Baptist Street, 10:50-11:03 p.m. July 7: 53-year-old man assaulted by known person; minor injuries reported; case cleared: victim refused to cooperate.

■ 4300 block Charles Boulevard, 10:30 p.m. July 4: 41-year-old woman assaulted by boyfriend; minor injuries reported; case active.

■ 3900 block Norris Store Road, near Ayden, 5 p.m. July 1: 34-year-old woman assaulted at home by spouse; no injuries reported; case active.

■ 4400 block Privacy Lane, near Washington, 1:10 p.m. July 6: 59-year-old woman assaulted at home by boyfriend; minor injuries reported; case active,

■ 500 block Keagan Way, near Grimesland, 9 p.m. July 5-4 p.m. July 6: 29-year-old woman assaulted at home by spouse; minor injuries reported; case cleared: prosecution declined.

■ 5400 block Weyerhaeuser Road, near Ayden, 9 p.m. July 6: 28-year-old woman assaulted at home by boyfriend; no injuries reported; case cleared: victim refused to cooperate.
