Son returns stolen car

A woman’s 15-year-old son stole her car then returned it home while deputies were present, according to a case report released by the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident took place about 2:12 a.m. July 16 at a home on the 1600 block of Anderson Road, the report said.

Officers were responding to the report of a stolen Nissan Murano by the woman when her son returned home, the report said.

No arrests were reported but the case status was listed as active.

2800 block Highway 118, near Grifton, 9 a.m. July 5-12:01 p.m. July 12: one Husky tool box, one Husqvarna weed trimmer and two Troy pressure washers, all valued at $800, stolen from home; case active.

2500 block Bullock Lane, 3:03 p.m. July 12: break-in to home reported; stolen items not listed; case active.

3200 block Penny Hill Road, 6:35 a.m. July 13: one Samsung television valued at $120 stolen from home; case active.

1600 block Sandstone Court, midnight June 24-midnight July 7: one refrigerator valued at $500 and one air conditioning unit valued at $1,000 stolen from home; case active.

3700 block Barnhill Street, 9:18-9:19 a.m. July 13: 27-year-old woman assaulted by boyfriend at residence; no injuries reported; case cleared: victim refused to cooperate.

500 block Bronty Road, 5:02 p.m. July 13: 40-year-old woman assaulted at home by known person; no injuries reported; case active.

1900 block Ken Lane, 5:52 a.m. July 14: 24-year-old woman assaulted at home by neighbor; no injuries reported; case active.

5700 block Rivercreek Drive, near Washington, 11 p.m. July 11: 26-year-old woman assaulted at home by boyfriend; minor injuries reported; case active.

2100 block Herman Garris Road, 12:52 a.m. July 12: 63-year-old woman assaulted at home by child; no injuries reported; case cleared: victim refused to cooperate.

4000 block Tabitha Lane, 7:30-7:40 p.m. July 12: 26-year-old woman assaulted by boyfriend; minor injuries reported; case active.

600 block Birchwood Lane, 10-10:10 p.m. July 12: 42-year-old woman assaulted by spouse; no injuries reported; case active.

4000 block Dennis McLawhorn Road, near Ayden, 10:53 p.m. July 12: 65-year-old man assaulted at home by spouse; no injuries reported; case cleared: victim refused to cooperate.

1200 block NC 121, 11:20-11:29 p.m. July 12: 43-year-old woman assaulted on road; no injuries reported; case cleared: victim refused to cooperate.

400 block Northwest Acres Drive, 5:16 a.m. July 16: 22-year-old woman assaulted at home by spouse; minor injuries reported; case active.
