A custodian was assaulted and injured by a student Tuesday at Ayden-Grifton High School, according to an arrest warrant.

The incident occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m., the warrant indicated. The student slammed his shoulders into the victim's torso aggressively, the warrant said.

Timmothy O'Lonnie Hall, 18, 4148 Lee St., Apt. A, Ayden, was charged with assault on a school employee and was jailed in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $2,500 bond.

It's unclear how the 60-year-old man was injured or what prompted the assault.
