Travis Watkins — Concord native has 163 career starts and could fill a key spot in the lineup as the cleanup hitter.

First base

Spencer Brickhouse — Talented freshman replaces injured senior Bryce Harman. Brickhouse was on track to start at designated hitter until Harman’s wrist injury.

Second base

Charlie Yorgen — Yorgen comes into today on a streak of 167 consecutive games started, dating back to March 12, 2014, as a freshman.


Turner Brown — Brown started 58 of 60 games as a freshman in 2016 and seems to be more confident and comfortable heading into his second season.

Third base

Eric Tyler — A team captain and consistent hitter, Tyler tied the American Athletic Conference record with eight RBIs in a game last season.

Left field

Dwanya Williams-Sutton — After leading the AAC a year ago with a .360 batting average, look for Williams-Sutton to serve as the leadoff hitter in the lineup and also play some center field.

Center field

Andrew Henrickson — Fayetteville native is a defensive stalwart and spent his first two collegiate seasons at Pitt Community College in Winterville.

Right field

Luke Bolka — One of the biggest developments of the offseason was Bolka’s improved defense. All 32 of the senior’s career starts have come at DH.

Designated hitter

Bryant Packard — Packard played at D.H. Conley High School in Greenville and joins Brickhouse as freshmen hoping to make offensive impacts.
