Amidst a hard-to-believe stretch of the regular season and after what turned out to be an emotional weekend with Central Florida sweeping the East Carolina baseball team to hand the Pirates their fifth sweep of the season, ECU returns to action today with a trip to Wilmington to face UNCW.

ECU (19-18) is 1-10 in its last 11 games, the lone victory a 10-2 win over the Seahawks (16-18) in Greenville last Tuesday. Kirk Morgan has pitched consecutive midweek games for East Carolina and has been solid, highlighted by getting the pitching victory versus UNCW after giving up one run on two hits in 4.2 innings.

The Pirates had late leads slip away against UCF during the first two games of that series and then lost 7-0 on Saturday in the return of ace pitcher Evan Kruczynski. Wilmington swept James Madison in its weekend series.
