Suspended East Carolina basketball players Jeremy Sheppard and Raquan Wilkins will not return to the team, according to sources on Tuesday.

The team had previously announced the two guards were suspended indefinitely for violating team rules.

Sheppard, a sophomore, became the Pirates’ starting point guard last season and was fourth in scoring with 9.2 points per game, and he dished out a team-high 104 assists. He appeared in 30 games and started 13.

Wilkins, also a sophomore, saw limited action in 27 contests with one start.
