Jack Reinheimer is with the New York Mets, giving East Carolina two former players currently on active Major League Baseball rosters. Pitcher Mike Wright (Baltimore Orioles) is the other player.

Former ECU pitcher Jharel Cotton is on the Oakland Athletics’ 40-man roster, but not active as he is injured and on the 60-day disabled list.

Reinheimer, 25, was called up from Triple-A by the Mets on Monday for his second MLB stint. He was 0-for-5 batting in two games last season with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Mets claimed the former ECU shortstop off waivers from Arizona on July 31. They optioned fellow infielder Luis Guillorme as the corresponding move for calling up Reinheimer. He was not in the Mets’ starting lineup on Monday or Tuesday night.
