ECU names new compliance director

East Carolina University Director of Athletics Jon Gilbert announced Friday that Alex Keddie was named senior associate athletics director for compliance.
The appointment marks a return to ECU for Keddie, who previously served two roles in the athletics compliance division, beginning as a graduate assistant in 2012 before departing as the unit's coordinator in 2015.
In her new leadership role, Keddie will have direct oversight of ECU's compliance program which, includes risk management monitoring, preparing and submitting NCAA and American Athletic Conference waivers and appeals, investigating and submitting violations and reviewing and updating policies and procedures.
"I’m excited to welcome Alex back to ECU and have her be a part of our senior leadership team," Gilbert said. "She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in NCAA Compliance and will be a tremendous asset to our student-athletes, coaches and staff. The addition of Alex will enhance our department on many levels and she will contribute immediately to the overall success of Pirate Athletics."
Keddie most recently was director of compliance at North Carolina since July 2018.
