Senior middle blocker Toya Osuegbu hit a program single-match record .833 percentage to lift East Carolina volleyball to a 3-1 win (25-17, 25-23, 23-25, 25-17) over N.C. Central on Tuesday night in Minges Coliseum for the Pirates’ fifth straight victory.
Osuegbu finished with 10 kills and no errors in 12 attempts. She also had two blocks for the Pirates, who are 9-1 heading into a Friday match at Gardner-Webb.
The Eagles fell to 0-12.
“It was a win over an improving N.C. Central squad,” ECU coach Julie Torbett said. “We need to continue working in the gym to clean things up and play more consistently.”
ECU’s Bri Wood posted a double-double, which she has done through the entire five-match win streak. She had 15 kills and 16 digs, and Sydney Kleinman paced the Pirate offense with 16 kills.
