East Carolina welcomes William & Mary to Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium at 6 p.m. for the Pirates’ second home football game of the season.
Here are three Tribe players to know:
No William & Mary player has received more praise this week from East Carolina coach Mike Houston than Mathis, the Tribe's freshman quarterback who also is the team's leading rusher at 66.3 yards per game. He ran for 127 yards in a Week 1 win over Lafayette, but the Virginia Cavaliers the following week held him to 27 yards on 15 carries.
Burdick possesses conventional receiver size at 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds and he has six total receptions in three games, but he has made the most of those receptions. His 206 receiving yards equal to an average of 34.33 yards per catch.
The senior cornerback and team captain has helped the Tribe to a plus-7 turnover margin. He has one interception, one fumble recovery and is second on the team with 17 total tackles, including 2.5 for loss.
