The continued effects of the winter weather that hit the area this week forced more postponements Friday, including the first basketball matchup of the cross-town rivalry between D.H. Conley and J.H. Rose.
The games between the Rampants and Vikings will now be played Wednesday night at Conley. DHC's matchup against Havelock that was originally scheduled for that night has been moved to Jan. 27.
Wednesday night also was the landing spot for two more matchups that had to be moved: Ayden-Grifton's games at North Lenoir and South Central's trip to New Bern. The Falcons were originally scheduled to take on Hertford County on Wednesday, but athletic director Chris Cherry said those games will be moved to a later date.
North Pitt's home games against SouthWest Edgecombe were rescheduled to Monday, taking the place of a scheduled meeting with Greene Central that will be made up later in the season. Farmville Central's games at Nash Central were postponed to Jan. 31.
Also, Ayden-Grifton’s Charger Duals wrestling meet was canceled.
