Post 39 evened its Area I East playoff series with Wayne Post 11 Wednesday night, 3-1. The sides are even at one game a piece heading into tonights matchup in Wayne County.

Post 39 had just one hit on the night, taking advantage of two Post 11 errors along with passed balls and wild pitches to pick up the win.

Shea Ward (2-for-2, BB) had both of Post 39's hits on the night. Anthony Saieed, Caleb Morris and Ryker Galaska all recorded runs.

Pitcher Jordan Leggett earned the win from the mound, giving up three hits and one run while striking out six batters over the course of 5.1 innings. Mitchell Hoffler closed out the game, giving up just one walk, no hits and recording one strikeout.

Post 39 head coach Ryan Meadows saw a big change in his team following its 8-4 loss in game one on Tuesday.

"Both teams played hard both nights, this is going to be a great series," Meadows said. "They (Post 11) played extremely well last night and got every break they could. W didn't take advantage of some of the breaks they gave us last night and didn't do a good job of making our own breaks either."

Meadows credited Post 11 starter Noah Overton for his performance on the night, while also heaping praise on Ward, Leggett, shortstop Jake Lysaght and first baseman Caleb Morris.

"We had some really good plate approaches off a really good arm on their side tonight," Meadows said. "Our guys found a way to grind it out tonight. You can't say enough about Jordan Leggett, his performance really gave us a shot in the arm to hopefully get this series turned in our favor. Our pitchers did a great job and so did our defense. The plays that Shea Ward made at third base were high caliber plays. Lysaght and Grant Charles Jarman over there at second were working together and Caleb over at first played well."

Meadows added that his team will have to play its best if it hope to knock off Post 11, a team that continually plays Post 39 closely.

As the series continues each game becomes more and more important, though Meadows doesn't see the pressure effecting his squad.

"I don't think our guys feel a lot of pressure," Meadows said. "They kind of play laid back, maybe more so than I would have liked this season. I think that's one of our advantages right now. If they can stay in the moment it will be key. They look like they're not playing hard, but you look over and there are 18 guys locked in on the baseball game. These guys have been in big games, on both sides. Between both of our rosters I think we've got four schools who have played in the eastern finals in high school. There's a bunch of big time experience in both dugouts. The better team won last night, the better team, I believe, won tonight, and who knows how this thing will go."
